Visiting the PA DeSpain Gang

We've had a great time here in Philadelphia.

Becky and I hit the pavement, doing some serious shopping,
while the guys went golfing.

We've been able to watch number 10 (Hogan) play some baseball.

 We've seen beautiful gardens
We've strolled through history.
The best is spending time with these guys.  Watching them as they go through their everyday lives.  It's so much fun seeing them come and go.  Love being with the eastern despain gang.  Sorry that our time with them is coming to an end.

Easter Egg Hunt, Darling Grandchildren..Family..I am a Blessed Woman

What a wonderful Easter!  And so fun to celebrate Jim's birthday on this special day.  Nothing better than to have these cute kids over for the annual Easter Egg hunt.  Just wish we could have the other half..Well later on in the summer.

We watched the kids hunt for eggs, play and have fun.  We can't get enough of our new little addition.  We are so grateful for all of these precious grandchildren.

And of course it wouldn't be a summer gathering without a little baseball.  Hey, PA Gang, we need a little coaching here.

What a lovely Day.

Happy Birthday Hogan

This good looking young man is my grandson, Hogan.
 He turned 13 yesterday!
He loves all sports, but baseball is the one he loves the most.
We love to go back east and watch him play along with his brothers each spring.
He's got what I like to call his Grandma DeSpain's
 "twinkling brown eyes."
Whenever she smiled her face lit up and her eyes twinkled.
There are a few of her kids, grandkids and greatgrandkids who have that same look.
 Hogan has it!
Happy belated birthday Hogan.
love you.. grama polly

Springtime and Baseball

On a beautiful spring day like today,
I am feeling a little nostalgic.
I miss watching these guys round the bases, catching flies
and sliding in home.

Luke looks like he's grown a foot since we've seen him!
Wish I was there for this game!

Hogan's loves the game.
He's always calm and he's got a smile on his face.
He's so much fun to watch.

Jack works so hard at his game and is getting so strong.
Love to watch him pitch and hit the ball.

And can you believe Taylor is driving everyone everywhere?
Every spring at this time of year I find myself humming
"take me out to the ball game..."
Just thinking about them makes me smile.

A Late night surprise

It's been cold and gray lately...
so Grampa decided it was time to get away for a little spring baseball.
We got on a plane,
 late at night
...flew in
and
surprised
the
GANG!

Can't believe how much they've grown in just six months.
Will post about the fun days ahead.

Taylor's Birthday

Can't believe our oldest grandson turns sixteen years today! Time flies when you're having fun.  We've certainly had fun watching Taylor grow.  He's the leader of the gang of boys in our family, as well as our little bird!  And what a wonderful leader he is!

He watches over all the kids, shows them patiently how to do things.  He's got a great smile, straight A student, creative mind and loves sports!  I've loved watching him grow and become the young man that he is!

Happy Birthday Taylor!  Love you tons.  Can't wait to see what this year brings!  Can't wait to come and see you and have you take me for a ride with you at the wheel!!!

Luke at Ten

Yesterday Luke turned ten years old.  Can't believe my son's youngest is ten! Time flies.  Luke is a determined little guy who loves sports, keeps his older brothers on their toes, and loves pizza.  Especially when his favorite restaurteur, John makes it just for him.  We love to visit him and watch him play baseball.  He turned out to be one of the few who caught a fish this year.  Hope you have a great year.  Love always, grama polly
